Desert Rocks Bonspiel

2013 Desert Rocks Bonspiel planning under way for this fall's event. This part is already decided: lots of curling - 3 games guaranteed. Great bonspiel discounts on rooms at nearby hotels. Fruit harvests will be in full swing. Beer and wine bar in the hospitality room, full bar upstairs, catered dinner and silent auction on Saturday, the Wenatchee Valley and the east-side Cascade mountains in late summer... doesn't get any better than that!  Check back with us next spring to get more info.

And on January 25-27, 2013 close to Sun Valley ski mountains, the Boise Curling Club is hosting an outdoor spiel in Stanley, Idaho.  What a chance to curl just like the fore-runners of our sport!

Closer to home, the MoPac 5U event will be held April 20-21, 2013 at the Granite Club rink in Seattle.  Format is 20 teams max, 4 events, 2 days.  Roger Carlson participated last year and believes we would be very competitive. All players have 5 years or less curling experience. Here's a link to the sponsor site for more information.

And in Portland, the Evergreen Curling Club has their first bonspiel event in their new brand new facility.  The Club will be hosting back to back weekend events on March 15-17 or March 22-24. Team Roger consisting of WCC members Roger and Catherine Carlson, Josh Hartmann, and Greg Alderson attended the first weekend.  Great facility, incredible ice and a friendly, gracious cadre of Evergreen Club hosts.  Go here for more information.

For other bonspiels in the US, visit the US Curling Association. For spiels in Canada, visit the provincial curling sites such as Curl BC or the Northern Alberta Curling Association.

If you have any Bonspiel information you'd like to include on this page, email Greg Alderson. This includes participation by our members at spiels, other clubs wanting to publicize their events, recruiting club members to join a team for an out-of-town event, or simply a suggestion to make the page more useful to everyone.
